Learning Design (with a UX brain)

I’ve been reading a lot about Learning Design recently. The more I dive in, the more I see how much it overlaps with UX, and I keep wondering: how had I not really considered it before?
Never one to shy away from throwing myself into something new, I’m learning more and even mapping out a course of my own. And I figured, why not document the ride?
I’ve always enjoyed helping people get their heads around tricky stuff - whether that’s mentoring a junior designer or explaining the subjunctive tense to a confused first year French student.
The more I explore Learning Design (Instructional Design), the more familiar it feels. User journeys? Check. Making complexity digestible? Check. Thinking about how people think? Absolutely.
It’s still about journeys and helping people get things done, but it asks slightly different questions, like ‘how do we help someone not just complete a task, but really understand it?’
So I’m diving deeper. Reading, watching, sketching ideas. I’ll share what I learn along the way - the frameworks, the tools, weird metaphors that help something click.
If you’re also curious about the crossover between UX and learning, let’s swap notes.
